Hypnosis for Self-Compassion
Self-compassion, or the lack of it, has been shown to be connected to numerous mental health concerns; most notably anxiety and depression. Symptoms of anxiety and depression are so common among people in Western countries, in fact they are the top two diagnosed mental health concerns in the US.
Self-compassion is the idea of being as kind to yourself as you would be to a friend or family member who was suffering. So often, we hold ourselves to higher standards, with the expectation that we should be able to "suck it up" or minimize the stress during major life changes. Being self-compassionate includes reminding ourselves that we are all human beings and that part of that includes going through times of suffering.
Hypnosis can help you to become more self-compassionate. By focusing the conscious mind in a hypnosis session, the subconscious mind can be given the suggestions to be self-compassionate, thereby reducing the negative self talk that can be found during times of high stress, worry and low self-esteem.
